5th Annual
Student
Sustainability
Summit
2026

Learn from student and community problem-solvers in the Shenandoah Valley!

Hosted by Eastern Mennonite University this year in partnership with Sustainable Shenandoah Valley, this summit brings together students, educators, and community members to explore undergraduate research, innovative initiatives, and real-world solutions.

The summit aims to foster connections between students and local organizations across Sustainable Shenandoah Valley member institutions—Blue Ridge Community College, Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite University, James Madison University, and Mary Baldwin University. By celebrating the impactful work already happening across the region, this event seeks to inspire new ideas, partnerships, and pathways toward a more just and sustainable future.

Projects featured at the event align with one or more of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, many of which reflect shared commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
